LAKE NAOMI CLUB 2011 LADIES TEAM TENNIS
Play will be conducted at the Lake Naomi Tennis Center on Friday mornings beginning at 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM (depending on your Team's schedule). There will be six Teams in a doubles competition format. Each Team will have a mixture of abilities so that the competition will be against opponents of similar levels.
Team Tennis dates are as follows:
July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, August 5 (August 12 rain date)
The formation of each Team will be by ability level according to the USTA National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) self ratings and on a random draw basis under the direction of the Tennis Committee. To be part of a Team you must be available to play at least 3 of the scheduled dates (not including the rain date). Members with less availability may register as Substitute players.
Registration fee is $15. Please click on the link below to sign up online with your credit card. If you would prefer to pay by check click on the Ladies Tennis Form (pdf) link to print the form. Return the bottom portion of the form along with the $15 registration fee to the Lake Naomi Tennis Center Pro Shop by 5 PM on Saturday, July 2, 2011. Please make checks payable to Lake Naomi Club. Court Fees still apply and must be paid weekly to the Pro Shop PRIOR to play. Teams will be posted by 3pm Monday, July 4, 2011.
A luncheon will be prepared by the Club and held at 12:30 PM on Friday, August 12th at the Lake Naomi Clubhouse at a cost of $19 per person. Pre-registration and payment is required by 3PM on Sunday, August 7th at the Lake Naomi Pro Shop.

2011 Team Tennis Guidelines
Players must be on the court and prepared to play by their assigned time: 5 min late - 1 game penalty,
10 min late - 2 game penalty, 15 min late - forfeit (remaining team gets average score of their team)
Players are allowed a 10 minute warm-up during which practice serves can be taken. No Team may be allowed to play "First In" serving.
Regular scoring applies. Teams report scores to Team Captains.
Team Members are to advise their Captain if they are suddenly not available to play.
Only upon the completion of the 6th game, a Team may make a one time side switch with their partner between the deuce and add court.
Play continues until a Team wins 12 games or until the whistle is blown. Any game in progress at whistle is to be finished & play is to stop. The whistle will be blown at 10:00, 10:30 and 11:30.
If Team members from the same Team disagree on a line call, it will benefit the opposing Team.
Substitute players must register with the Pro Shop & will be accepted anytime during the season. A sub player list will be posted & updated weekly. Only Team Captains may ask a registered sub to play. Sub players may only play one time per team. All available Team members must be used before a sub.
Captains must have their Line Up turned into the Pro Shop no later than 12:00 noon Thursday. Substitute players must be identified in the Line Up.
In case of injury on the court: Injured Team keeps their score. Opposing Team either keeps their score or may choose an average of their Team's final scores, whichever is higher.
If a team must forfeit a court the remaining team gets the average score of their team. |
